What is the Free Rent Community?
The Free Rent Community is made up of two groups:
#1. The group dedicated to a people’s empowerment print and online publication as well as an online radio station/podcast. As many print publications have been forced to close, there is a great need for progressive independent artists, journalists and creative minds to have their work reviewed and promoted.
#2. The other group is dedicated to creating a residential intentional community by planning and forming a residential community that offeres free of charge rent to all residents to live in.
Free Rent Community, when both groups are united, is operated by a very diverse group of people including the Peace Communities Progressive Coalition volunteers, and is a printed zine, online zine and an online radio station/podcast as well as a forming community that has been in operation since 2005. We review zines, music, audio and short DIY DVD videos which are directly, indirectly or barely related to love, feminism and/or especially about women creating a better world through direct action and/or Civil Disobedience from all over the world. We also want to start more telephone/podcast and video interviews with zine writers and are always seeking volunteers worldwide. We will start promoting the reviews on our ‘lovepeaceandjoy’ Twitter account to over 3000 followers. We will happily give reviews to zines of all types including online zines as long as they are in PDF files so they can be archived. Please include the form found below.
We also greatly welcome people to email us 10 minute or less mp3’s to us that review other people’s zines or that interview zine writers so we can upload it to our podcast/online radio station. We review zines and short DVD (No VHS, sorry) videos which are directly, indirectly or barely related to love, activism and/or creating a better world.

We are currently accepting submissions for review and are always interested in telephone interviews with people working for a better world.
Eligibility Requirements for Interviews
Free Rent Community interviews and accepts audio profiles from an extremely large variety of people. However, in order to maintain our independence, we do not conduct interviews with people who are employed in administrative employee positions in any multinational corporations, governments, identified corporate front groups and the identified corporations that fund them [57 page pdf document]. We will consider interviews with anyone else. Please feel free to contact us for consideration.
Eligibility Requirements for Submissions
Free Rent Community reviews zines (independently published magazines with no ISBN’s or Bar Codes) and DVD videos (20 minutes or less) which are directly, indirectly or barely related to love, activism and/or creating a better world. We will not review anything that includes (or promotes) racism, sexism, homophobia, politicians, porn or long poetry (extremely short poetry is welcome). We welcome everything else including perzines (personal zines) and experimental creations. Donations enable us to continue to exist, but we never require you to send money or postage: this is the Free Rent Community.
